Soup & Sound Live Series

Blood of the Stars is a duo comprised of Erica Dicker (violin) and Dan Peck (tuba). Their sound is a synthesis of simple folk-like melodies and distant landscapes, perhaps touched by a singular voice or entity. The extreme range in pitch and timbre between the two instruments becomes dissipated through these ethereal textures evoking an element of familiar yet alien sentimentalism. A typical set includes compositions by both Dicker and Peck, with an occasional tune by Ornette Coleman.
